We launched MIFF2020 because we knew marginalized young people had exciting and important stories to tell. MIFF serves as a positive mouthpiece and platform for young filmmakers to express mental health, social justice, environmental and human rights concerns.

MIFF2020 is open to filmmakers aged 16-30. We accept films from young filmmakers around the world. Films are screened locally in the heart of Hong Kong’s filmmaking district and online. Each screening closes with a lively panel discussion. There are also workshops, webinars and parties.

As well as recognizing and rewarding the best young filmmaking talent, the winners of each category are automatically selected for the Hong Kong International Mental Health Film Festival

We are currently accepting submissions for our 2020 Mental Ideas Film Festival!

Due to uncertainty caused by the ongoing coronavirus world health crisis, we have regretfully decided to postpone our inaugural Hong Kong International Mental Health Festival to 2021. MIFF2020 is also postponed to MIFF2021.
